I spent today preparing for an upcoming interview for a new position I’m applying for.
As a first step, I focused on preparing my responses to basic questions that I anticipate will be asked during the interview with the HR representative, such as my reasons for applying for the position.
It’s been a while since my last interview, so I revisited the lessons I learned from previous job changes, particularly the importance of avoiding negative language.
Drawing from my experiences, I crafted responses that address my current situation without resorting to negative wording, even when explaining my reasons for leaving my current company.
While the upcoming interview will be conducted in Japanese, allowing for more nuanced explanations, I recognize that this approach won’t suffice for an English interview, should I progress to that stage. Since an English interview is required before receiving a job offer, I’m taking this opportunity to revise and refine my responses accordingly.
To be continued.
