Project Meeting Frustrations: Reevaluating Priorities and Company Outlook

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

We held a meeting to update our Japanese colleagues on the project schedule, which we had previously confirmed with the engineers at HQ.

To be honest, the meeting was quite frustrating.

The attendees consisted mostly of older, less proactive coworkers who were more focused on their own concerns, along with assistants who seemed disengaged and uninterested. Additionally, our country manager failed to effectively guide the meeting and missed key points. My reliable junior and I have both reached the conclusion that being a project manager in our company is less than ideal.

As a result of this meeting, I’ve decided to dial back my efforts for the project. I’ll strictly adhere to working during office hours only, devoting more time to my side hustles and preparing for the next position.

Although I had a pleasant conversation with a member of the Liberal Arts City this morning, overall, my outlook has dimmed. I no longer hold any expectations for my current company.

To be continued.
