You can hear the voice recording for the diary.
We visited the Train Museum today, and my initial worries about the museum being crowded during the students’ winter vacation turned out to be unnecessary. Surprisingly, it wasn’t as crowded as we expected.
As we weren’t particularly thrilled with the lunch options available at the museum, my wife and I picked up different lunches for ourselves before arriving here. We did, however, grab a Shinkansen-shaped lunch box for our son.
Despite some afternoon crowding due to the calmer COVID situation, visiting on a weekday offered its advantages.
We got the chance to step into one of the historic train driver’s cabins, which were used many years ago. Positioned at a higher level for safety and visibility, the cabin was quite narrow and equipped with a fan. It made me appreciate the hard work and conditions train conductors faced.
I remember wanting to be a train conductor when I was young, but now, I find riding trains as a passenger much more comfortable and enjoyable.
To be continued.
