今日から今年最後の現場出張である。
I’m embarking on my final business trip to the site of my project for this year.
今年、初めてお会いして、お世話になった方々への年末のご挨拶での各所訪問。また、明日の登山に向けての準備もある。
Today, I had numerous tasks, starting with the year-end greetings to local stakeholders, which took up a significant portion of my day. I also needed to prepare for tomorrow’s site survey up the mountain.
いっしょに登山をしてもらう測量会社に立ち寄って、明日の実施内容を確認しつつ、市役所に行ってカギを借りてくる。また、市内のレンタルオフィスによって、空きの有無、レンタル代やルールを聞いてきた。ネットで調べて２件、メジャーなとこ、地元密着のとこ、１件ずつヒットしたので、両方見てきた。
My schedule included a meeting with the survey measurement company to discuss tomorrow’s agenda, a visit to the city hall to secure a key for mountain access, and visits to rental offices to scout for a suitable site office. I’d identified two potential options online: one associated with a major company’s branch and another from a local firm.
一長一短、いずれも悪くはない。ただ、いまの会社はケチだし、社員のことを全く考えてくれない社長なので、期待はしないでおく。
Both offices have their pros and cons, and either would suit my needs. However, my country manager isn’t particularly supportive and isn’t known for valuing employees’ needs. I’m not holding high expectations for the ease of renting the office space.
