今日は帰りが遅くなり、東京駅でのラーメン。
I had ramen at Tokyo Station after leaving the office late at night.
というのも、前回果たせなかった環境影響評価の追加予算に関するアジア統括部長への説明資料を作成していた。
I was preparing the presentation material again to seek approval for additional budgets needed for the early Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) site survey from the APAC manager. I couldn’t secure his consent last time.
昨日、今日の話で、結局、日系企業でのときと同じように、資料をしっかり作り込まなければならないことがわかった。作りながら以前の上司に教えてもらったフレーズを思い出した。
During the internal discussions at the Japanese branch, I realized the need to create a comprehensive material that met the standards expected in Japanese companies. While developing the material, a phrase from my former boss came to mind:
それは、バカにでもわかるように説明すること。それを思い出し、資料の体裁を改めないといけないなと思った。外資系企業に勤めているとはいえ、やっていることは日系企業のそれとなんにも変わらない。
“Explain it as if to a fool.” This prompted me to reconsider the presentation’s content. Even though I work in foreign affairs, my tasks, mission, and methods remain consistent with those in Japanese companies.
一方で、東京駅で食べるラーメンはウマかった。二郎系ラーメンか迷って、並ばずに食べられる油そばにした。ここの汁なしラーメンは最高である！
On another note, the ramen at Tokyo Station was fantastic. I took some time choosing the shop and opted for a ramen without broth. I enjoyed the noodles and plan to try it again.
