Supporting Meet-ups in Rain or Shine: Taro Soup Event in Yamagata

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

I attended a meet-up to enjoy taro soup, a famous food in Yamagata Prefecture, organized by members of the Liberal Arts City Sendai Office.

Originally, I had planned to attend this meet-up with my family. However, the entire day was marred by continuous rain, which brought back bad memories of a previous rainy trip to Karuizawa in Nagano Prefecture. Given the weather conditions, we decided it was best for my wife and son to stay at home.

I had intended to pick up one of the members at Sendai Station, so I couldn’t cancel my attendance due to the inclement weather.

Furthermore, having been involved in organizing events many times, I understand the challenges organizers face. Even when they have children of their own, canceling an event due to rain can create difficulties for the organizers and might discourage them from hosting future meet-ups.

Since these organizers have consistently arranged fantastic events for our group, I felt the importance of showing my support and cooperation, especially in less-than-ideal weather conditions.

To be continued.
