Delightful Lunch Experience at a Tonkatsu Restaurant

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

I had lunch with my female colleague today.

We decided to try a Tonkatsu restaurant near the office that we hadn’t visited before. Since it’s a very famous restaurant, we arrived there 40 minutes before their opening time and secured the second spot in line. Surprisingly, it wasn’t as crowded as its online reputation had suggested.

In my opinion, perhaps people were less inclined to eat Tonkatsu in the scorching weather.

While waiting in line, we struck up conversations with the people behind us, and they recommended trying the chicken cutlet. So, we decided to order both the Tonkatsu and chicken cutlet and share them. As the people had suggested, most of the customers opted for the chicken cutlet, and it ran out of stock earlier than the Tonkatsu.

We realized that the restaurant’s reputation was well-deserved. The chicken cutlet, especially the chicken breast, was much tender and juicier than usual, leaving us quite impressed. It was definitely worth the 2,000 yen we paid for lunch.

To be continued.
