昨日は、出張先のホテルにチェックインした後、近くにある食堂に行ってきた。
I went to a restaurant near the hotel after checking in yesterday.
というのも、もともと行く予定だったラーメン屋が休みだったので、近くで営業していた洋菓子店で聞いて、食堂を教えてもらった。
Originally, I had wanted to go to a ramen shop, but it was already closed. So, I stopped by a cake shop to pick up some dessert and ask for a good restaurant recommendation. The clerk suggested a nearby restaurant.
とても雰囲気がいいお店で、刺身定食を食べた。刺身もさることながら、ウニが絶品だった。わたしはウニが好きではなかったが、これほどおいしいとは知らなかった。
The recommended restaurant was very cozy, and I ordered a sashimi dinner set. Since the sea is very close, the sashimi was incredibly fresh. In particular, the sea urchin was delicious. Surprisingly, I didn’t use to like sea urchin because of its taste, but this one was completely different from the ones I had tried before.
その後は、待ちに待ったサウナに行ってきた。思っていた通り、地元密着のサウナで、地元の方が優しく声をかけてくれた。
After dinner, I finally went to the sauna in front of the station. As I expected, the sauna was a popular spot for local residents, and they were very polite and friendly when talking to me.
出張の楽しみが増えた。次回は教えてもらった、近くのスーパーのお寿司か、すし屋へ行ってみたい！
I’ve discovered some enjoyable local experiences to look forward to during my trips. Next time, I’m thinking of trying a sushi restaurant or buying sushi from a local supermarket.
