エジプトの友人に招待されたときのために、フライトを検索して航空券の相場を確認してみた。
As I prepare for my friend’s wedding in Egypt, I researched the typical airfare from Narita to Cairo.
せっかくならば、エミレーツ航空で行きたいなと思い検索してみると、エコノミークラスにも関わらず、一人当たり50万円を超えるフライトだった。とてもじゃないが、これでは乗れない。
Considering the journey, I explored flights with Emirates as well. However, the Economy class fare with Emirates exceeds 500,000 yen per person, which I find challenging to afford.
次にエジプトエアーで検索してみると、なんとその半額であり、エミレーツのエコノミークラスとエジプトエアーのビジネスクラスの金額がほぼ同じであった。
I also examined Egyptair flights, which are nearly half the cost of Emirates. Interestingly, the Egyptair Business Class is priced similarly to Emirates’ Economy Class.
通常であれば、直行便であるエジプトエアーのほうが高くなるはずであるが、そこはブランド力と知名度といったところか。
This likely indicates the strength and popularity of the Emirates brand. Although Egyptair’s direct flights could be priced higher due to their convenience, my hunch is that Emirates’ reputation plays a significant role.
エミレーツに乗れるのを期待していたが、それは叶わそう。それでもエジプトエアーであれば直行便で行けるし、あの劣悪なサービスを体験できるのは、それはそれで楽しみ。
While I wished to travel with Emirates, it might not be feasible. Instead, I anticipate opting for a direct Egyptair flight and embracing the unique experience, even if it means a less lavish service. The prospect is rather exciting to me.
