先日のエジプトで一緒だったメンバーとの飲み会で、現地スタッフが婚約したことを聞いたので早速連絡し、その友人から連絡がきた。
Last week, during our drinks, my senior mentioned that one of the Egyptian national staff got engaged. I decided to reach out to him on the same day, and today, I finally received a reply from him.
今回の婚約には、彼自身も驚いているとのこと。
It turns out that he was also surprised about his engagement.
わたしが現地で会っていたころは、結婚する気など微塵も感じられなかったのに、摩訶不思議である。おそらく、先のパンデミックが影響したのかと。
When I was living in Egypt, he never mentioned having a girlfriend, so this news came as a surprise to me. I suspect that the pandemic might have played a role in changing his perspective.
結婚式にはぜひ呼びたいというので、家族で参加したいと伝えておいた。
In his reply, he mentioned that he will send me an invitation to his wedding. I promptly responded, expressing my desire to attend with my entire family.
最悪は１人になってもしょうがないが、できれば家族でエジプトに行きたい。エジプトに行くのが、今から楽しみである。ちなみに、調べてみたら、2024年4月までエジプトエアーはゴールドカードだし、直行便は水、金曜日に出発していることがわかった。値段もそこまで高くはないし、エジプトエアーでいくのもありだな。
Although attending alone would be okay, I truly wish to visit Egypt again with my family. From now on, I will be eagerly planning for the trip. To start, I checked my Egyptair status, and it remains at gold level. Fortunately, Egyptair offers direct flights from Narita to Cairo every Wednesday and Friday, and the fare is reasonable. Considering all this, Egyptair seems like the best option for us. I can’t wait to attend his wedding and revisit Egypt’s beautiful sights and culture.
