今日は電力会社との打合せである。しかも、先方のオフィスでの打合せのため、前日に近くのホテルに宿泊しての出席となった。
Yesterday, I had a meeting with an electricity power company at their office, so I stayed at a hotel in the city where their office is located during my business trip.
午前中に昨日の議事録などをまとめつつ、午後は打合せ本番。前回に続いて２回目の打合せであったが、F2Fということで緊張した。
In the morning, I finalized the minutes of the meeting from the previous day and then attended the meeting with the power company in the afternoon. It was our second time meeting face-to-face, and I was nervous, just like during our first meeting.
提案した内容は、ことごとく否定され、結果は惨敗。これまで考えていたものが一からのやり直しになった。
Unfortunately, all of our proposals were denied, which means our construction plans were back to square one.
とはいえ、F2Fでの打合せで収穫もあった。今回の工事で考えていた電力会社との責任分界点が違っていたことが判明。契約書を確認してみると、たしかに彼らのいう通りだった。
However, the meeting wasn’t entirely without benefits. After the meeting, they clarified the demarcation point for the construction, and it turned out to be different from what I had expected.
これは、まずは契約書を隅々まで読み込む必要がある。
This highlighted the importance of thoroughly reading and understanding the contract before proceeding with the project. Lesson learned!
