今日はコントラクターの事務所で打合せであった。
I had a meeting with the contractor at their office.
当初、会社に集合していこうと話をしていたが、同僚が集合時間になっても現れず、確認してみると、直接向かうとのこと。
Originally, we had planned to gather at our office before heading to their office yesterday. However, when the gathering time came, nobody showed up at our office. I contacted one of my colleagues, and he informed me that he was already on his way to their office.
すぐに目的地のビルまでのルートを確認してみると、すぐに出れば間に合う。ただ、机の上を片付けなければならず、結果して、その電車には間に合わなかった。
I checked the route and departure time from our office, and it indicated that I would make it if I left right away. However, I couldn’t catch the train because I had some things to take care of at my desk.
それでも、途中のターミナル駅で急いで、乗換のタイミングを１本前の電車にでき、なんとか間に合ったのでよかった。
Although I was able to catch a later train from the nearest station to our office, I had to transfer quickly to catch the rapid train.
仕事が終わった後、本国から来たエンジニアの歓迎会で焼肉を食べてきた。英語での飲み会では、少ししか英語を聞き取れなかった。飲み会になると、周りも騒がしいし口調も早くなるので、聞き取るのが難しい。
After work, we attended a BBQ party near the office organized for the engineers from headquarters. During the English party, I had some difficulty understanding the conversations. People were speaking faster than usual, and there was some background noise in the restaurant.
