友達からラーメンどんぶりをもらった。ただのラーメンどんぶりではない。
I received ramen bowls from my best friend, and they were no ordinary bowls.
その友達とわたしがひいきにしている山岡家というラーメン屋のどんぶりである。
They were the same ones used at our favorite ramen shop, Yamaokaya.
なんだろう。ただのどんぶりではあるが、とてもうれしい。自宅でラーメンを食べるときのどんぶりが欲しかったというのもあるが、あの山岡家のどんぶりなので、とても興奮する。
While the gift may not seem particularly special to others, I was overjoyed. The reason behind my excitement is that I had been wanting a ramen bowl to enjoy ramen at home, and I was thrilled that the bowls were the exact ones used at the ramen shop.
これまでの誕生日プレゼントの中で、５本の指に入るくらいの興奮である。
Receiving these bowls ranks among the top five birthday presents I have ever received.
早速、送ってくれた友人に電話をしてみた。彼は、プレゼントに対してとても謙遜していたが、こちらとしては願ったり叶ったりであると伝えた。ラーメンを食べるのが待ち遠しい。
As soon as I opened the package, I called my friend to express my gratitude. He mentioned that if I didn’t need the bowls, I could even put them up for auction. However, I assured him that this was exactly what I wanted. I can’t wait to use these bowls and savor a delicious bowl of ramen at home.
