仕事をしているときに２つ前の職場から電話があった。
While I was at work, I received a phone call from one of my previous employers.
出てみると、確定給付年金の手続きが未完了とのこと。確認してみると、もう１つの確定拠出年金は手続きが完了しているらしい。同じような名称でわかるわけもなく、スルーしてしまったよう。
They informed me that I had not completed the application to transfer my pension from their company. It turns out I had already completed the application for one of the two pensions, but I had overlooked the other one due to their similar names.
今月が手続きの期限だというので、連絡してきた。ただ、よくよく確認してみると、手続きをしなければ、そのまま一時金で銀行に振り込まれるとのこと。
The caller reached out because the deadline for the application is at the end of this month. However, she also mentioned that if I don’t request the transfer, the remaining funds would be automatically transferred to my bank account after a confirmation process.
もう１つの年金を動かした際に、個人年金は手続きが煩雑だし、そもそもお金がもらえるようになるまで、ずっと先になるので、追加で掛け金を入れるのを止めている。
In my previous experience transferring a pension, I found the procedures to be quite complex, and the timing for receiving the funds was in the distant future. This led me to stop investing in such schemes.
なので、今回のお金は一時金でもらうことにした。もらったら、なにも考えず右から左に株式投資だ。
Given the situation, I requested a lump sum payment for the remaining pension. Once I receive the funds, I plan to invest them in the stock market.
