昨日、歓迎会で家に着いたのが深夜0時を回ってしまい、寝るのが1:30を超えていたが、今朝はいつもより早く起きてしまった。
Last night, I arrived home past midnight and managed to go to bed by 1:30. However, I found myself waking up earlier than usual.
なので、そのまま早めに会社へ行ってきた。今日は昨日と打って変わってオフィスには５名しかいなかったので、事務所内は終始静かであった。
I left home earlier to get to work. Since there were only five of us in the office, including myself, it was a very quiet day.
そして、出社していた方と一通り話ができた。仕事をこなすのはもちろんであるが、メンバーに覚えてもらうこと、自分もいっしょに働く同僚の顔と名前を覚えることが、初めのミッションである。
Today, I had the opportunity to speak with all of my colleagues. While it is important for me to work diligently, my primary task is to ensure that my colleagues remember my name and that I familiarize myself with the rest of the team.
また、夕方は少し早めに退社し、現地調査のための安全装備品を買いに行ってきた。
Towards the end of the day, I left the office a bit early to purchase safety gear for an upcoming site visit.
山道を歩くための登山靴、ヘルメットと手袋を買うつもりが、買いに行ったお店のポイントカードを忘れたことにお店で気が付いた。店員に確認すると、取り置きもできるというので、翌日改めて買うことにして、今日は買うものを決めるところまでやった。なんだかんだで大きな買い物になったので、ダメ元で言ってみるものである。
My intention was to buy mountain shoes, a helmet, and gloves. However, I realized that I had forgotten to bring my membership card when I tried them on. I informed the store clerk about my situation, and she kindly suggested that I reserve the items and return tomorrow to complete the purchase. I agreed to her offer. Initially, I hadn’t thought much about the shopping card, but in the end, the total cost turned out to be higher than I had anticipated. I was relieved that I had been honest about not having the card.
