You can hear the voice recording for the diary.
I had a video chat with a friend I met during my first job hunt and informed him that I will be leaving the company.
He had previously worked at the same Japanese company as me, but quit before I did and pursued a career as an engineer overseas. He is now running his own business. I have always admired his high level of skill, and it’s hard to believe that we were once colleagues at the same company.
Even though our conversation was remote, he expressed genuine concern for me, knowing the environment of the company we both worked for, where many people tend to stay long-term.
Since I will be continuing in the same industry, I shared this news with him to maintain our connection. Surprisingly, he was supportive of my decision.
He affirmed that my decision aligns with future trends, and hearing his validation made me feel even more confident. Although our conversation was brief, the opinion of someone I trust provided me with further encouragement.
To be continued.
