You can hear the voice recording for the diary.
I recently reached out to a junior colleague who used to work with me at my previous company.
He currently works at a subsidiary of the parent company, to which I was also transferred, and he now resides in Tokyo due to the relocation.
During our conversation, he expressed his satisfaction with his current job. The workload is manageable and less demanding compared to what he experienced at the parent company. As a result, he is able to dedicate more time to his family after work.
Talking to him brought back memories of my own tenure at the same company. Reflecting on my past, I realized that it was the starting point of my professional journey.
I had been stuck in the same job, complaining about it without considering a transfer to the subsidiary. Even if I had been given the opportunity to work at a branch office in the US, which I had desired, I’m certain that my overall outlook wouldn’t have changed. It was my experience working in Egypt that truly transformed me.
To be continued.
