マンションの防災訓練に参加した。
I attended an emergency drill held in my apartment with my family.
入居以降初めての開催でかつ、最近災害がとても多いこともあり、入居者の1/3が参加する大規模なものになった。
As this was the first time to hold such an event after completing the construction and many disasters have occurred, the attendees were more than one-third of the total tenants of our apartment.
初めて入るマンションの屋上を紹介してもらい、消火器を使っての消火訓練を体験。
The receptionists explained the facilities installed on the rooftop for the first time and we learned how to use fire extinguishers which are located in the hallway on each floor.
その後は、地下や備蓄倉庫へ行き、非常用トイレを含む、非常用設備の見学をした。
After that, we saw the emergency equipment and locations such as a water tank in the basement, emergency supply warehouse and the emergency lavatory.
万が一にも、今日見せてもらった設備が使うことになったときのために、水や保存食を用意したり、自分ができることをやっておこうと思った。
In the worst case scenario, we must use these facilities. I’m going to do what I can, like preparing preserved food and water if these unfortunate events should arrive.
