今日は仕事のモチベーションが下がることがあった。
I was in a bad situation which demotivated me.
PJのアシスタントがこれまで図面でしか見られなかった機器が現場に納入されるというのを知り、見てみたいという要望に、上司が難色を示した。
Our assistant requested our boss to visit the site to watch the installation of the equipment which was confirmed on the drawing only. I thought that it was fine because she was an enthusiastic person for work, however, our boss disapproved of her request.
せっかく勉強したい、という思いに対し、旅費数万円をケチって彼女の熱意を冷ましてしまう言動を実際に目の当たりにして、わたしの熱意も少し冷めてしまった。
Although she tried to study at the site by seeing the equipment in person, our boss discouraged her only to reduce her trip expenses. I was also demotivated due to being involved in their conversation.
外資系企業にいても、結局同僚や上司が日本人ならば、そこまで劇的には変わらないんだな、というのを実感させられた。
I noticed that the work environment in a foreign company didn’t change drastically as the colleagues and bosses are Japanese.
今後の進路を本格的に考え直そうと思う。
I decided to reconsider my future plan in earnest.
