One of my colleagues in my department got infected with COVID-19.
しかも、同日に出社していることがわかった。
Moreover, I worked at the office on the same day with him.
幸い、席も遠く、話もしていないことから濃厚接触者にはなっていない。
Fortunately, my desk is far from his and I haven’t talked to him. So, I’m not a close contact person with him.
このことについていろいろ考えたが、妻には伝えないことにした。
I decided not to tell my wife about it after thinking about it on the way home.
むやみに伝えて心配させるよりも、なにも伝えずそのまま何事もなかったように終えてくれればと思っている。
Instead I don’t want to make her worry about it by talking unreasonably, I hope the time went by as if nothing had happened.
病は気から、という言葉もあるので、余計な心配をしてほしくない。
Japanese have a proverb ‘fancy may kill or cure’, so I don’t want her to worry about it too much.
