Who Is Ugandhin?
From High School to Now
15 Y.O.; entrance exam for high school
I’ve loved trains since I was a kid, so I took an entrance exam for high school where I needed to go by train.
Fortunately, I was able to pass the exam.
17 Y.O.; failing a class because of too much playing games
I had been playing video games with new friends in high school. I was into playing video games call Initial D ARCADE STAGE Ver.3 in an arcade.
Because of the game, I failed a class.
18 Y.O.; riding a suite room of sleeping train
This was the biggest event in my life. I was able to get a ticket for a suite room of a sleeping train “Cassiopeia”.
Even though the sleeping train had 10 cars, only one suite room was contained because it was placed at the end of the train.
19 Y.O.; change of my thought by an English lesson
I started taking English lessons with a Canadian who got married to my mother’s friend.
My mother pushed me to take it only one time because I don’t like studying English. However, this experience was a big turning point for me.
As a consequence, I have been taking lessons with him for about a year until he went back to Canada.
20 Y.O.; study abroad in Canada
I studied abroad in Canada during the final summer vacation as a student and saw the English teacher who had changed my life.
21 Y.O.; determination to work abroad in the company
I decided to want to work abroad in the company I entered so that I could use my English skills.
23 Y.O.; going to an English conversation school
I couldn’t continue studying English by myself. However, I didn’t want to give up my dream, so I started going to an English conversation school.
I made many friends who have the same dream and my motivation increased again.
25 Y.O.; visit to a filming location of Prison Break in Chicago
I visited Fox River Prison which was a filming location of Prison Break in Chicago. I studied English to watch the series.
This was my first trip overseas alone and I had lots of trouble. Anyway, I really enjoyed staying in Chicago.
29 Y.O.; work at overseas devision, marriage & away from home for work
The turning point of my life has come and the events were below:
- Feb.: submission of marriage certificate;
- Mar.: start of my newly-married life with my wife;
- May: the wedding ceremony;
- Jun.: receipt of relocation to the overseas division;
- Jul.: move to the overseas division and away from home for work.
Major events kept happening within a half year.
Even though I was able to move to the overseas division I had desired, my newly-married life finished only a half year and I had to live away from home.
30 Y.O.; start of living in Egypt
I lived in Egypt after several times of business trips.
Because of this, the distance between my wife and I was within Japan and became more than 6,000 miles. Our newly-married life was totally finished.
31 Y.O.; think about asset utillisation seriously after buying condominium
As the sales representative explained, I bought a condo.
Because of this decision, I was concerned about the mortgage and think about asset utilization seriously.
32 Y.O. open of NISA (Nippon Individual Savings Account)
I opened my brokerage account. I realized that the account was mandatory to make money.
I invested in S&P500 index funds with small money as I watched a video on YouTube.
33 Y.O. start of investing in High Dividend ETF & side hustles
I started investing in High Dividend ETF when there was a sharp drop in share prices because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, I also started to do my side hustles to increase my income. My side hustles are this blog and radio channel below.
34 Y.O. take of my paternity leave and review of my work
I took paternity leave for 11 months.
I reviewed my life and think of my future self during the period.
Finally, I decided to change my job.
Mindset & Value
Stock Investment
Ugandhin’s Stock Investment Rules
・Never invest in individual stocks;
・Invest in index funds by using dollar-cost averaging;
・Use my surplus for investing in High Dividend ETF and the dividend will be used for living expenses;
・Invest in all-world index funds on NISA for my child.
In principle, I will keep investing in both index funds and ETFs. I’m going to be rich slowly.
Vehicles
It hasn’t changed what I liked since I was a kid.
Cars
I want to drive a sports car in the future.
Railways
When I retire, I want to visit all the cities in Japan by train.
Airplanes
I have liked airplanes since I worked at the overseas division.
While I lived in Egypt and Japan back and forth which is 13 hours in length, I got used to traveling with economy class.
Favorite words

Is It the Winner Who Graduates Top Ranked Universities?
Even though academic background-oriented society is collapsing, many Japanese companies think that education and academia is so important.
Especially in big companies, there is still even academic background discrimination.
I realized the fact after entering the company. It’s too late to think I should have studied at a university.
However, is it impossible to change my life by my effort after entering the company?
I’m going to prove it with my challenge.
Academic background is not everything.
The working world is much longer than your days as a student. So, I’m sure that my effort will work for my better future. I will offer information based on my experience through my blog and radio channel.
I also post information and my thoughts in the process.
